When in London, I was asked is rebellion dead? That got me thinking about the consumerism culture today and the struggle for a unique style. We've gone away from subculture and gone towards the age of control copy culture. Later back in the states, I was asked to create a visual argument. This is my arguement.
The consumerism process has become well a process. It's feels like an assembly line that can be replicated. Capitalism and marketing ploys are pulling the strings and we happy to oblige. An exchange, money for the golden ticket of exclusivity and feeling in trend.
I made two postcards in reminder of all of the post cards I've received from a sales girl slipping it into my shopping bag after purchase. All promoting a new product or an upcoming sale to encourage more spending.
